She... seems to be fine, now that I've stopped her evolution. [Indeed, Laine is still clinging to Sakaki, but she's calming down.]

... [ Rise did that with her Flaaffy all the time, so no point in mentioning that, even if she's smiling slightly at the sight. Her Ampharos is peering over her shoulder with large, curious eyes. ] She might have been scared. Change is a big deal, and you can't really reverse that once it's happened.

That's very true. And neither of us had time to prepare. I don't think she knew she would evolve again either.

[After a second, Sakaki notices the Ampharos behind Rise.] Oh... Is that the Mareep's third form? [Laine's head jerks up and she stares at the gear, eyes wide.]

Yep, this pretty girl's Posie! She's an Ampharos now. [ Posie lets out a low chirrup in response, nuzzling her head against her trainer's. She's still got her pink bell collar, too. ]

[Sakaki's sentence is interrupted by a pink paw tugging at her collar. Laine gives her a pleading look as she points to the screen and to Posie, then points to herself.] Flaaffy! Flaa, Flaaff?

What? I'm sorry, what are you asking, Laine-chan?

Flaa, Flaa! [Laine points more vehemently, poking the spot on the screen where Posie is, then pointing up at Sakaki, who furrows her brow as she tries to interpret.]

[After a moment, Sakaki passes the gear to Archie and picks Laine up, setting the Flaaffy at her knees.] Laine-chan... If you're worried about what I want from you... All I want is for you to be happy. Whether you evolve or not is your choice... and either way, I will love you just the same.

[Laine stares up at her trainer for a few seconds... and then she leaps into her arms again, this time with a much happier sounding cry.]

... [ Rise watches all of this with a nostalgic smile. Sakaki was way more mature about this than Rise was when Himiko evolved into a Gloom, that's for sure. ]
