[A video feed kicks in, and all we see is a fuzzy hand before Sakaki pulls away from her Pokégear. When it focuses, we see she's sitting against the wall in a Pokémon Center, looking very worried and cuddling a Psyduck in her lap. This particular Psyduck looks marginally less derpy than its kinsmen, possibly because of the towel-wrapped ice pack ( Read more... )

Aren't Psyducks' power connected to their headaches? It would give you a disadvantage over others if you attempt to cure it.

Mm, that's what I've been told... but I don't want her to suffer.

That's awfully nice of you. But if it's a trait inherent within all Psyducks, would it even be possible to find a cure, I wonder?

That's... a good question. ... I've heard that her evolved form doesn't suffer from headaches, but... she'll still have to fight to reach that point.

I wouldn't want to be Psyduck, that's for sure.

It would probably be for the best if you push her as hard as you can now, so she can evolve quickly. If the headache really is too much to bear, a few scratches and the exhaustion from battle would be worth it.

Mm... It seems like it would be for the best... But is that alright with you, Akira-chan?

[Akira nods instantly, surprising Sakaki with how quickly she agrees.] Psy!

Ah...

There you have it.

It's not going to be easy however. How comfortable are you with Pokemon battling? If you want to bring her to the sufficient level in a short space of time, it's going to get a little repetitive.

Mm... At first I wasn't comfortable at all, but... my starter, Maru-chan, is very... enthusiastic. So I'm growing more used to it.
