Today's Home Depot trek was quite productive. For slightly over $100 I was able to get a 6-foot Douglas Fir tree (wrapped and tied to my car, no less), a lovely jacquard tree skirt, a cast-iron tree stand, a nutcracker statue, two poinsettia plants, two more of the Glade Apple Cinnamon candles I'm addicted to, and a Swiffer Wet-Jet starter pack.
Can I just tell you about the Swiffer Wet Jet? Can we just take a minute to ponder its awesomeness? The only thing they don't tell you is that it takes 4 AA batteries, which I had to run out and get. I now have a sparkly-clean kitchen floor AND a sparkly-clean bathroom floor to show for my efforts. Apparently Swiffer also makes a wood-cleaning formula, which will be most excellent when we've ripped up all of the carpet. I am obsessed with this thing.
I still have to figure out what to do about the second wreath that I bought the other day. I think I'm going to find a way to jerry-rig it to the outside door. We have kind of an "air lock" at the front of our house. First, there's the door that lets you on to the screened-in porch. Then, there's a big wooden door on the front of the house, and directly in front of that is ANOTHER door. It's wonderful for climate (and cat!) control, but it means that if we want to be thorough we need multiple wreaths.:)
