I did actually get to posting the Half-Year Accomplishment Meme (In Two Parts) on Monday.

I was concerned that working on it under "me only" privacy settings over the course of a couple of days may have messed with how it displayed once I changed it to public so I looked around on a couple of mutual friend pages and couldn't find it. So here it is again if you're interested in that kind of thing and missed it.

Meanwhile, I went to the doctor on Monday for some immunizations. The next site I'm planning on trapping mammals at is one where we need to cross through a barbed wire fence and I couldn't remember the last time I had received a tetanus shot. Certainly not since 2004.
Today I found my immunization record and if it is to be believed the last time I got the booster was 1997!
I got the Tdap, which is good since I've never been immunized against whooping cough before and there's something of an epidemic here in California.
The bad news is that my shoulder is SORE.

I got the flu shot while I was at it and I hope it's the reason my left eye is a lovely shade of bloodshot and itchy. (Redness and itchyness was listed as side-effects. It's just kind of weird that it's restricted to the one eye.)

I took today off work since otherwise would've meant extending my 9 day work week to 10 or more! And while not all of those days were a full 8 hours, many of them were spent away from home and I needed time to prepare more salads for Smaug and change my rug back from gray (mixture of black and white cat fur) to blue.

I'm hoping to coordinate a meet-up in the Bay Area with dsch, traxer, and lonebluewolf next Monday but we'll see how that goes. I need to be in San Jose in the evening anyway to pick up David from the airport!

Hopefully I'll have some work-related pictures to post soon, including some awesome recent* captures such as loggerhead shrikes and a live** shrew!

Your turn now, highwing. :D

*...July counts as recent, right?
**They've all been dead before due to an unfortunate combination of their fast metabolism, preferred diet, and the bait we use. But this one was alive and trying to bite me and everything!

health, meme, work
