...and it's back to uni for me!

Had a good weekend in Leeds with Susi and Gina :) it was sooo worth it to go down for Terrorvision, yay! They were ace, and most definitely rocked my socks off. It was quite nostalgic seeing them again, didn't think I'd ever really get the chance again after their last tour when they played scotland. And it was nice cos it was their homecoming gig at leeds uni, them being bradford lads, of course!

Strange to have a hotel attached to a TGI friday's (faar too tempting!), get a cheeseburger there and later the same day end up in the hard rock cafe where we went with leanne once we'd met up with her after tv. [cue mentalness with helium balloons!!]

Friday night was really random, we found the hotel, then went for drinks (whilst in the process of trying to find somewhere not mobbed for a meal!). found a very posh place, and had a yummy lasagne with my pina colada ;) the three of us had a bit of a splurge (and consequently were skint for the rest of the weekend)! Later on we found a pub which susi was convinced was the double of the abbey inside, and then she and I went out to a rock night at the leeds met student's union, I think it was called electric head or something. Was pretty cool cos they were playing old heavy stuff like Fear Factory, Machine Head, and when they played at the drive-in's one armed scissor, being on the dancefloor with susi I thought for a few minutes I was back at dysfunction at the attic. ah, happy memories :)

Leeds was cool, but not as cool as Brighton! We found a huuuge market and a place called the corn exchange which had loads of funky little shops and stalls in it where I bought loads (too many) postcards - I got funny 'name' ones for Stephen, Clare, Brian and Amanda :) - and badges. I never can resist ;) I also got some really cool jewellery. At one end of the spectrum I got a kitsch plastic bangle in a bargain bin for £1 (it's black and has big pink spots) and at the other end, I bought a bracelet for £8 which was made of pieces of shell (it's a beautiful aquamarine blue colour) because I had to have it, it was so beautiful. I also found the funkiest shoe laces, white with blue stars printed on them, yey.

After getting the train home, I just couldn't face going back to gala on sunday so I went and saw Stephen :D cos I'd missed him lots. He really liked the old skool star wars and elvis postcards and I got him some cool badges too (blur, radiohead and an elvis one). We had a chilled night out at the cameo bar where they had put on an acoustic night (a first, going to be weekly now I think). then we headed to berts bar across the road cos they were open later! wanted pizza so Stephen ordered it from the chippy while I went to get cash but evil RBS wouldn't let me get at it :( tried more than one bank m/c but I think they were doing maintenance or some cack like that. So anyway, I go back to the chippy to tell Stephen my woeful tale and this bloke (a complete stranger by the way) says, here, have this fiver! Well, that's never happened before, I can tell ya!

So no prizes for guessing why I didn't make it into uni in gala for my first day of term!! Strange and a little sad to think it's my last term of being here. Final term of my degree... sometimes I thought it would never come but it's here now, and I know it'll be odd not to be coming back here come october. The thing I'll miss the most is the people, the studio atmosphere and the curly fries in the union! As for gala, I know I'm really going to miss having my own little flat, my own wee space in the world. *sigh*
