Episode 2.17 - "Excessive R.E.M."

Absence makes the heart grow fonder...
I guess the saying's true 'cause I've been dreaming about my high school friends a LOT this week. The first dream takes place in a fancy, dimly-lit Italian restaurant. It's a regular reunion there. At the table I see Janelle, Shannon & Rob, Marianne, Jeff, Alexis, Allison, Rice Lady, and Chelsey; there's one chair empty. I assume it's for me and when I walk over to the table everyone gets excited and we all start laughing and catching up.

For a moment I break off with Marianne and Jeff for more private conversation next to the jukebox. For some odd reason, they both look very thin in my dream, like my life-size. In the middle of our chat, three young, blond groupies run up to me and ask me to Tango with them. I agree. Jeff turns on the tango music; one girl grabs some random guy and they start Tango-ing... but they are horrible--offbeat and hyperactive! Although I don't have a partner, I show them how it's done and dance the Tango like nobody's business! BOO-YAH! The patrons in the restaurant applaud my performance.

I exit the restaurant only to find myself in the ol' Drama Green Room in NHS. John walks in and we play a game of Mercy. It turns violent as we exchange blows until I finally body slam him through a table. RRRRrrr, y'all! Right after that, some girl walks in; I pick John up, we hug and pose for pictures all smiles like nothing happened. Actually, kicking his ass is pretty standard in my dreams involving him. As the only friend who has touched every part of my body, I guess he'll always be a victim of my harmless, subconscious anger towards him.

After the episode in the green room, I find myself in the NHS band room. It's cold and dark and we're loading equipment onto the band truck in preparation for a competition. Half of us start taking out chairs to be placed on the truck. Danny (who is NOT in the real-life band) offers me a chair but I walk past him without looking to get my own damn chair and toss it onto the truck.

I walk out of the school to end up in the creepy, ominous mall of my dreams (see Malfunction). While I'm there, I see Alexis walking around aimlessly so I call out to her, saving her from falling down the rusty escalator. She is very grateful and starts walking the other way.

I go down the escalator only to find myself in a warehouse basement. I'm joined by a band of mythical creatures: a werewolf, a zombie, a wizard, an amazon, two vampires. The Devil is jumping around in a glass jar so one of the vampires picks up a sledgehammer and smashes it. The Devil hops out and mutates into a giant eyeball that keeps getting bigger and bigger; I pick up a giant knitting needle and stab it until it deflates.

Finally, I find myself in a huge, suburban home. I walk out of the living room and use the vending machine. Kriscinda hovers around me like she's afraid that I'll jack her for her purse. After I buy my snacks and she sees how clean the house is, she smiles and compliments me on my good work; apparently, I'm the butler here. Great. I walk outside where I have three simultaneous conversations with Janelle, Nelly, and Mark before sending them on their way.
