Episode 1.54 - "Cultural Overload"

Nov 18, 2005 23:04

I've been going to see a lot of performances lately 'round here. Whew! Last Friday I went to Lina and Meredith's Senior Recital to show support of our Band girls. And wow, I was so surprised to see a packed recital hall for them... don't get me wrong, that's a great thing but very surprising. I sat with Carrine and her beau. Lina played her flute and Meredith sung operas in four different languages. Apparently, this recital is like their audition for graduate school. And I'd say they definitely hit it out of the park.

Earlier tonight the Marching Band played at the grand re-opening of the newly renovated Majestic Theatre, which was AWESOME! However, let me say this: only the spectator areas are renovated and fancy; the basement where the band has to get ready didn't even have a floor. Eww. Oh yeah, Carson Kressley was at the B-list star-studded event two days earlier.

The band marched down the aisles (waking everyone up) and played "Loyalty" (our fight song) and "National Emblem." For the first time, Dr. Peddell wore white gloves so to me, he looked like Mickey Mouse in Fantasia as he directed us from balcony... Reegan thought it was the Cat in the Hat. Silly Reegan. She was so anxious the whole night 'cause she had 9:45 tickets to see Harry Potter 4: The Search for More Money in Hanover, PA. Kinda makes me think that her confused geek costume at the parade wasn't a costume at all. M'hmmm.
