Episode 1.37 - "Pasadena Revisited"

Oct 16, 2005 22:15

When I think of home
I think of a place where there’s
love overflowing
I wish I was home
I wish I was back there with the
things I've been knowing
Finally, after being here on campus for almost exactly two months (August 19), I made a brief pilgrimmage back to Pasadena, Maryland on Friday night. On the way home Mom and I stopped at the local Blockbuster and not 2 seconds after I walked through the door, I heard my name and saw someone pointing at me! Wow, that was quick.

Anywho, it was Amber's mama, Mrs. Thompson. Since she still loves to talk, she happily talked my ear off about there not being a Pom Squad anymore, Amber's problems with LeFrancois, the Color Guard competition, and of course, problems with the fall musical (which is something NEW), Mount Olympus. Once I finished talking to her, Lauren Voelker's Dad ran up to me; unbeknownst to most, we go WAY back since he's worked with my mom for, like, forever. He dished the dirt bout Lauren, and I know she'll turn out alright. Really, Lauren is such a smart girl... she just doesn't want anyone (especially guys) to know it. And oh yeah, long-haired John (the one with the voice) works there now. Great.

On Saturday I spent the whole day shopping with my mom and sister (Jiselle) at Target and Best Buy. Speaking of which, Ludwig works at Best Buy now. That's nice. She informed me that the NHS Marching Band is actually moving on the field this year and they're playing La Nouba from Cirque du Soleil; I remember listening to that with Mr. Harouff in his office last year. I also spotted an old band buddy, Nikki, at Target. And No, she doesn't work there... well, I don't think she does.

Our last stop for the day was at Lauers to get some soy sauce for my Ho Wok rice (I love my Ho!). And since I amazingly managed to see John through the front window of Little Caesar's, I stopped in and said Hey. He seems to be doing a'ight; he's still breathing and hell, that's good enough for me. Unfortunately, Janelle wasn't there, so I couldn't see her, and since the weekend was mainly for my family, I didn't get to visit any of my friends. Oh well, next time.

Y'know, I never realized how much I enjoyed living in Pasadena until I left. I missed being able to walk down my street and have people whistling at my hot body. ((Oh yeah!)) *smiles* And I found it quite peculiar how it had been raining all week before I left, but it was sunny that Friday night when I went to Pasadena; it was perfectly sunny all weekend and it started to rain as soon as I arrived back in Gettysburg. Does that mean something? *strikes thinking pose* Naaah!
