Well color me tagged.

Twice, by both Ashe and Scab. In no particular order, 7 randomish songs that I love. Bear in mind, my taste is large and eclectic, so this is but a sampling. So here goes:

1. Lux Aeterna from the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack
Now I dunno if it was composed strictly for that movie, or if it's just a re-done piece by a master. Mind you, this is the one from -that- movie and not Lord of the Rings, or whatever. I just remember it being in a preview. Anyway, I've always been a fan of strings, and this song gives me chills. Without any precussion (besides just a little in the background), it gives you this feeling of terrible yearning struggle. I love songs that can so simply draw out strong emotion.

2. Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley
I believe this song is a cover, but I'm not for sure. It's one of the best bittersweet love songs I've ever heard, and I've heard a lot. Decidedly not emo, if that's what you're thinking. So stop it. He somehow mixed sweet soft guitars, a haunting voice, and Bible references into a love song. It's neat. "Love is not a victory march, it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah."

3. Last Breath by The Mad Caddies
And in a completely different tone, here's my ska song. The perfect balance of swanky big band sound and bounce. Their other stuff is good too, but from what I have, I think this is my favorite.

4. Spanish Doll by Poe
This is off the Haunted album, -all- of which is wonderful, but this song stuck out the most to me. It's less electronic than most of the rest, opting for some excellent Spanish-flavored acoustic guitar and beautiful vocals. When I hear this song, I see her, all dolled up 40s starlet style, blood red lipstick, singing in a smoky nightclub. For the first half, anyway. It moves on into a faster little lilting beat and samples. It all fits together well, at least, and something I love to sing along with.

5. Until the Morning by Thievery Corportation
Just a funky little trip hop song. It's groovy and mellow, and I love that sometimes. I have no idea how it got on my computer, but I decided I like it.

6. No Regrets by Aesop Rock
A quirkly little story-song by my new most favoritest talented fantabulous I'm-gonna-build-my-street-cred-so-I-can-run-away-and-marry-him rapper. It's got a great beat, an awesome message of individuality, and lyrics that kick everybody's ass to hell and back. That, and Aes's accent is awesome, and his flow throws a big middle finger to mainstream rap, and how can that be bad? Can you tell I love this song?

7. If I Ever Leave This World Alive by Flogging Molly
What do the Irish do better than drink and sing?! I've had a Flogging Molly kick lately, and this one I like a lot. I listens like one of those "going to war" ballads, but kind of oddly cheerful. I love their bouncier punkier stuff too, but yeah. This is a good song. That I like to sing too. With a bad accent. Loudly. When nobody's here, like now.

And you know, looking through my music, I could do about three or four more of these lists, but I'll spare you. There's a lot I like, and all different kinds. Which is cool, I have something for every mood evar. So there you have 7, all different. Be appeased, you mongrols.

OH! I tag . . . umm . . . Rena' and Sean, to be random.
