New drabble for fridaydrabble
It's a humorous Edward/Bella for the prompt "giggles"
It's actually nearly a crack!fic, which is odd because i've never really been into crack!fics.

Giggle

The incessant giggling that Edward heard directly outside his door was doing little for his already frayed nerves.
“Alice,” he gritted his teeth, “If you would kindly refrain from giggling constantly, I would be most grateful.”
The fact that he knew exactly what she was giggling about didn’t exactly help things, either.
“Come on, Edward? How could I not laugh?”

He had to admit, she did have a point. To her, it must seem rather humorous.

“Alice? Is that you?”

He heard Bella’s voice now, and his face would have been a brilliant magenta, had he any blood to give it color.

“Hey, Bella.” Alice was giggling again, “I’ll just be going downstairs now. Have a nice… night.”

Bella, not understanding what Alice found so funny, had a confused look on her face when she walked into Edward’s room.

“What was that all about?” she asked him as she closed the door.

“Well,” Edward started, tongue-tied for the first time in nearly one hundred years, “She… er, saw something. A vision.”

“And?” Bella prompted, “What was so funny about it? And why did she tell me to have a nice night. It’s only four o’clock.”

“You see…” he stopped, and swallowed thickly, trying to find some way to put this delicately, “I was rather hoping that tonight we might… try.”

“Try what?”

Her expression was genuinely confused and Edward sincerely hoped he wouldn’t have to spell it out for her.

“You know!”

“No, I don’t. Oh!” her face lit up with understanding and Edward breathed with relief that his girlfriend wasn’t entirely clueless, “So you will try playing Monopoly with me? I’m so excited!”

Okay, so maybe she was a bit slow on the uptake.

“No,” he said, “Monopoly was not what I, or Alice, was referring to.”

“Well, what then? We’ve played every other board game I asked you to, haven’t we?” she began ticking things off on her fingers, “Snakes and Ladders, Candyland, Checkers…”

“No!” he interrupted her, “This is not about board games. What I meant was I wanted to try that … activity. That one you wanted to do before you got turned.”

Her face was blank and expressionless.

“What are you talking about…?”

“Ugh!” he growled, finally convinced that Bella was, in fact, clueless and had probably taken one too many volleyballs to the head during P.E., “SEX! I AM TALKING ABOUT SEX!”

At that very second the entire house erupted with thunderous laughter from every member present; he distinctly Alice’s infernal giggling.

Bella was positively fuchsia with embarrassment, more red than Edward had ever seen her before.
“Oh, um. Yes, well, I hadn’t thought about that…” she stuttered.

Sighing, he put his face in his hands and sat on the bed. This was way too awkward even for him to handle.

He felt her sit down next to him and looked back up at Bella.

She rested a hand on his cheek, and with the most mischievous look on her face that he had ever seen, said, “Let’s shut them up, shall we?”

Edward was struck by this sudden switch from meek and embarrassed Bella to take-charge and confident, but he didn’t let that slow him down.

So he laid her back on the bed, and let’s suffice to say that the Cullens weren’t laughing any more.
