Weekend in England
Yeah I should probably tell you all about the TrekBBS meet-up I went to. Well, the one I was supposed to go to. It didn't happen. The end.
Alright, alright. So I flew into Liverpool, and when I got out of the airport, some guy I'd never seen before in my life, said "hi" to me. So I went with him to his car...
Yeah, so I recognized him from his picture. Big deal.
.. And we went to his uncle's house. Driving on the wrong side of the road all the way.
Anyway, we went to Birmingham on the coach the next morning, but two and a half hours late, as the one we wanted to take was full. (I also got some home-made jam by the way.) So when we arrived in Birmingham, the meet-up people were of course gone. We didn't have any phone numbers either.
We gave up fairly soon, and went back to Stoke (PHJ's place). It was pretty much of a disappointment, but to make up for it, we got to confuse some of the 5MV'ers.
I spent an awful big part of the weekend travelling, which is not a good thing. Next time I go to the UK, I want to make it at least a week's vacation, so that I will actually have some time to spend doing what I want to do.
When I got home, Marianna (the one I rent my room from) told me my mother called, and she sounded pretty worried. My cell phone decided to turn itself off during my stay, and of course those bloody English have to do everything differently, so I couldn't recharge it either. When I finally turned it back on though, I had like ten messages or so, nine of which were from my "voice mail", telling my my mum tried to call me. One was from Nic. But that one was quite silly.
Even though I made sure to give all my change to PHJ, I wound up with some anyway, because i had to buy some food at the airport. Of course, Burger King didn't accept Euros though, so I had to actually buy some crisps first (which I could only pay for in bills) and buy French fries with the change. Now I'm stuck with one pound 12.
Now I would have tried this famous English tea (I heard there's caffein in it) if only I hadn't been not feeling well.
