12AM
They finally make it back to the dorm, shuffling through the door silently, all too tired from the days schedules. They go their separate ways - the youngest and the eldest throw themselves on the couch to rest, the tallest heads straight for the bathroom, the middle one goes into the kitchen and sets the tea kettle, the second eldest goes to his room and lays on his bed with his eyes closed. It had been a long day.
1AM
Half of the showers have been taken and the dishes have been washed. The two youngest are already asleep and the eldest is getting there. The vocalist was in the shower and the middle one was updating his journal. He did not have it in him to write a long entry tonight. He wanted to shower and sleep. He heard the bathroom door open and got ready for his turn.
2AM
The middle one is finally able to crawl into bed, the pillow feeling absolutely heavenly beneath his heavy head. He lets himself drift away until he hears his bedroom door open. His eyes open and his ears are attentive. He can hear the slow, steady breaths coming from two different beds next to his. Yes, they are asleep. He hears feet shuffling quietly and feels more than sees his bed dip. He moves a bit to the side to make room. A familiar hand finds his and their fingers lace together.
"I'm so tired." The words were whispered into his shoulder. He gives the hand a gentle squeeze.
"I know." They were all extremely tired, absolutely every day. Nonstop schedules make for endless days. They never got a break, but they had chosen this life. It was a blessing, most definitely, but a blessing with conditions. "I know," the middle one repeats. "But I'm here."
He felt lips barely brush against his cheek before they pressed gently against the corner of his mouth. This was the vocalists response. Nothing had to be said, because Kibum understood. It was Jonghyun's response, letting Kibum know that he was there too.
