:: Just thinking of Yaoi ::

Yaoi.

Well, these days, Japanese people prefer to use BL, which stands for Boys Love rather than Yaoi, but that's not the thing I want to point out.

Just out of random, I typed the word "Boys Love"/"Yaoi" in US amazon, and sort of was suprised to find out there have been relatively lots of yaoi work published by western companies.

Since works by Nanbara Ken [The author of  "Kiss in the dark with papa"] and Minami Haruka [shoot, I really hate her stories. Her art is OK, but plot seriously sucks] are not positively rated in eastern [I will just say Japan and Korea], though it seems to that still many western yaoi fans think those are great. It's not that I am trying to critize or something, because yaoi itself has no meaning in rate stuff; If it's your style, then so be it. If not, then don't read it. I just want to say that the criteria applied for picking up so-called "high-ranked yaoi" and "low-ranked" one are quite different in eastern and western. The work really popular in Japan and Korea are not that really known among the western fans, while the opposite phenomenone often happen. [For instance, not many ppl seemingly know the game like Togainunochi, which was quite boomed in Japan.]  Of course, there is still a subtle difference in what Korea and Japan BL fans are thinking, but the gap is not as big as the one by western BL fans, I guess. And that is probably caused by the cultural understanding plus experience. I belive that sort of thing cannot be ignored in understanding whole BL thing.

Oh, well I will stop my babbbling, before it completely loses its topic, though I highly doubt my writing actually contains any topic...
