Belated Hawaii post - Waikiki
First visit to Hawaii earlier this month was wonderful. Andrew and Liz arrived a couple hours before I did (having come from San Jose instead of Cleveland) and checked into our cute little round hotel in Waikiki. After I got there, we went across the street to the beach! I never really got past the northern Californian reflex to flinch going into the cold water. Oh, right, it's not cold. :) For dinner Andrew and I walked and walked and finally found a pho place. It was pretty good, but interestingly located, with a strip joint next door and another behind it. Andrew smiled at the bouncers in friendly way.
Friday I got up early (Eastern time, remember) and went for a walk. Discovered I'd left my wallet in the room when I tried to get a coffee beverage. Oops. Andrew and I found Lulu's, a good breakfast place. Then we went shopping and spent more time at the beach. Andrew bought a necklace for me and a frog knicknack. We saw some really awful souvenirs. Dinner was very good sushi.
Saturday morning I took a long walk around the park and then wrote postcards before A&L got up. Midday we flew to Kauai!
