Aboard the Mandalorian Dreadnought Parjai, Tuesday morning [FHT]

Jun 05, 2012 08:13

So far, everything was going according to plan. Zayne's group of fake Mandalorians (actually Republic soldiers from Phaeda) were outnumbered literally 100 to 1, found weapons but were under strict orders from Zayne not to use them, and after some searching they found the bridge, where the top ranked Mandalorians were.

And soon Zayne's crew would have command if his luck didn't break too badly.

On the bridge, Zayne saw a handful of troopers, several red-armored Rally-Masters, and the gold-armored Field Marshal giving orders. As his troops walked up, he was the only one not wearing a helmet.

"Load the coordinates! One jump to Phaeda, followed by a second jump to Dantooine. Then we protect Kace as he brings the Jedirunts back to Mand'alor," the Field Marshal said. "Though I can't imagine why we need more of those freaks."

"Are you questioning Mand'alor, Field Marshal?" Zayne asked, pulling his lightsaber from his belt and thumbing it on. "You'd better hope not!"

"You're the runt Kace took to Phaeda," the Field Marshal noted. "What are you doing back here?"

"The same reason the Republic puts Jedi on its bridges, Marshal. Making sure you don't foul up!" Zayne responded.

"I wasn't told you were coming and I don't like your mouth," the Field Marshal said as he picked up his vibro-axe. "I'm the master of this ship! I don't care if you're Kace himself, no one talks to Garon Borm like--" Borm was distracted by his sudden levitation at Zayne's hand.

"Like what?" Zayne asked as Borm floated over to him. "You're flying without a jetpack here, Marshal Borm. You'd better get with the program and get us underway, unless you want the other Dreadnought commanders to have the glory alone!"

Zayne put Borm back on his feet, leaving the Field Marshal to rage loudly. "All right, blast it! But mark my words, we'll regret ever letting you jetiise trash into the clans!"

As Borm collected himself, Zayne made his way off to the edge of the bridge, where he was met by a whispering Morvis. "I can't believe you did that, Carrick! He's a Field Marshal!"

"I had to make the sale, Morvis," Zayne whispered back. "Nobody on the bridge missed that. But I'm worried. I've been using the Force a lot. Things happen when I do that..."

Right on cue, Kra'ake stormed onto the bridge. "CARRICK! What are you doing here? Kace wanted you to stay on Phaedacomm!"

"Kra'ake?" Morvis asked Zayne. "You said the odds were against him being on Parjai!"

"I had a two out of three chance," Zayne sighed as he gave a signal to his men. "But like I said, things happen. Everyone in position. Do it, now!"

"I told you I didn't want to see your face again, Carrick!" Kra'ake said, stalking closer.

Zayne grabbed his head and cried out in agony as small objects started to float into the air, catching the Mandos by surprise. "Something's... wrong. Too... much... bad feeling here!" Zayne cried out. "Head... THROBBING! Can't stop it now. You've set it off... Jedi Brain Fever!"

All around the bridge, Zayne's men started screaming in pain and clutching their heads. "What in blazes is wrong with you people?" Kra'ake asked.

"Hurts... inside!" Morvis said as he started to take off his helmet. "Somebody HELP ME!" With the helmet removed, a horrifying green gloop was exposed on Morvis' head and face.

"Shoot him!" one of the Mandalorians said, firing his blaster to shoot Morvis down. The Mandalorian started to approach Morvis' prone body. "He stinks!" the Mando said, removing his own helmet. "I can even smell it through my... YARRRRGH!"

The effects of the Jedi Brain Fever were clear on him, and on several other troops throughout the bridge as they all removed their helmets.

"Don't shoot them! Don't shoot them!" Zayne ordered. "Dead bodies spread Jedi Brain Fever even faster! All you can do is get away! As fast as you can!"

A soldier att the comm station reported, "It's happening all over the ship, Marshal!"

Borm had seen enough. "It's like that thing that happened on Jebble! Sound general evacuation! Get to the lifepods! We'll destroy the ship once we're aboard the other Dreadnoughts!"

Not long after, the healthy Mandalorians had all evacuated, leaving Parjai in Zayne's hands.

"I told you, Captain. The Jedi aren't really big on using fear. But when your enemy's already afraid, it probably doesn't hurt to do something with it," Zayne explained as he started checking the navigation. "Of course, it helps to have a few liters of bile rat stew in your armor's circulation system."

"You weren't the one wearing the nasty stuff, Carrick. But still," Morvis said, brushing the larger bits of bile rat out of his hair with his hands as he started laughing, "hahahaha! Nice to be on the right side of one of your stunts for a change! And glad Scrope found one blaster with a stun setting!"

Scrope himself was checking out the surroundings. "We've got multiple kill shots on the lifepods, Captain. Should we take them out?"

"I'd like to," Morvis said. "But no. We do this Carrick's way. Besides, as few as we are, we'll have our hands full getting underway before they start shooting at us."

"It's a strange ship," Zayne said. "Can we make it to Dantooine?"

"Warship engineering is something I do know about, Carrick," Morvis said. "But after that, it's up to you."
