"So Rohlan returned to his run, huh?" Gryph asked. He was all decked out in the finest formalwear he could buy for a Snivvian. At this point, that was some very nice formalwear. "Maybe I shouldn't be surprised. After all that sleep, he's ready!"
"You don't look like you're getting much sleep," Zayne noted. Zayne, for his part, was wearing his normal outfit. Nothing fancy for him tonight.
"Not since folks heard the hero of Serroco is holsting Goodvalor's Little Bivoli in person, with Slyssk working his wonders in the kitchen! Everyone who's anyone in the Republic wants to be seen here!" Gryph's voice dropped to a sinister whisper as he continued. "Every government deal on Coruscant's being made here, and every table's wired for sound! It pays for the incidentals... like bribing the food inspectors. You wouldn't believe what playing by the rules costs!"
Gryph followed Zayne away from the restaurant to his Goethar Special swoop. "I'm sorry you're leaving. I could use you here!"
"Nah," Zayne said, hopping on the bike. "Too many paths stretching out there. The Rogue Moon Project always needs help, and the Jedi want me to help students with similar training problems. And then there's that war! And, you know, I have this nice new speeder bike. It'd be a shame to let her sit in the garage."
"You humans," Gryph snorted. "You keep trying to choose who to be. But why stop at one choice? You can be everybody. And if you don't know how to be someone, you can fake it!"
"I'll keep that in mind, Gryph," Zayne promised. "Stay out of trouble, will you?"
"Heh. Look who's talking," Gryph said.
"Yeah, I know," Zayne said. He raised his hand to say goodbye and kicked off on his swoop. A big chapter in his life had ended, but now it was time for another beginning.
[OOC: Adapted from Knights of the Old Republic #50, Demon Part 4 by John Jackson Miller and Brian Ching. And that's all for canon! I guess I'll have to figure out something new to do with Zayne now.]
