Rube came in out of the rain and removed his slicker, hanging it on a peg by the door. Days like this he loved having morning Reaps. Get them over and done and then have the rest of the day to himself.

He hardly glanced twice at the kid with cat ears. He'd met a Demon. Cat ears weren't all that weird. Well they were, but comparison wise you see...

"Staring at my ears, mein Herr?" Schrodinger said, suddenly in the seat across from Rube. They twitched as he said this.

Rube betrayed no surprise at Schrodinger's sudden appearance. Though he was a bit surprised.

"Just noticing." he said cooly.

"It's okay! Most people find them surprising." They twitched yet again as Schrodinger leaned across the table. "Would you like to touch them, mein Herr?"

"Not really." Rube said. Cats were all right, and talking to people he was getting used to. But he wasn't prepared to start scratching someone behind the ears no matter what they looked like.
