That's a lot of snow!

I have never, ever seen such huge snowflakes. I went out today to cash my paycheque and was simply amazed. It wasn't dangerous, or heavy, or scary - the snowflakes were just the size of golf balls. I walked into the bank just covered in it, simply walking from the car. It's pretty, and it finally seems like winter. We've had no days below zero this week.

Last night was fun. Justin had an interview in the city, and met up with our friend Grant. I met his girlfriend Kristen at her workplace, which is near mine. I had to pick up a modeling lamp she had ordered for me for work. I followed her home to her and Grant's place, where we met the guys with our buddy Pavel in tow. The drive back was probably pretty close to what my evening drive home will be, to our new place. Only a bit shorter. A different kind of traffic, that's for sure. It will take around 20 minutes. And that's peachy for me. I imagine it will be even nicer when it gets warm and I can do it with the top down!

The boys were sauced by the time we got in the door. I took Grant to the beer store with everyone's pitchings to pick up another case of beer, and we all settled in for an evening of Trivial Pursuit. More friends of Grant and Kristen's showed up; they were a very awesome couple, lots of fun. We had wanted Chinese food, but couldn't find the menu anywhere. So we found the number, but didn't know what to order. In the end Kristen ended up making her own Chow Mein and pork noodles. It was unbelievably good. A good evening, lots of laughter. I'm so glad they live in the same end of the city as us. One wouldn't want to hoof it, but it's a pretty quick jaunt in the car.

Anyways, one of Kristen's suppliers had dropped off some promo stuff from a company Justin loves, called Krumpler. They make very Mac specific carrying cases. So along with a sticker, she gave him a handfull of their latest novelty - matchboxes, complete with matches - roughly the size of a thumbnail. Literally. Great thing to give a drunk kid on his way out the door. He lit them in the car, lit them in the elevator, lit them in parking garage. They went out before they even hit the floor, but I was so tired, and way too sober for that. He gets so... naughty? Not in a sexual way, but in a three year old way. Loves to push my buttons. And I get so, so, mad for a short period of time, but he gets this terrible mischevious grin, and is so proud of himself that it makes me laugh in spite of myself. Child.

So today, I refused to drive him to work. I get two (sometimes one) day a week to sleep in, and I'll be damned if every day I'll haul myself up at 9 to cart his ass to work. He pouts but smiles, and walks. So I'm hanging with Trevor and chilling out.

social, funny
