So by now I've had four full doses of an ECA stack - and have decided to continue with this for two weeks followed by a week off, as has been reccomended. The only side-effects of the pills that I have felt so far are some mild hand shake (which is actually normal for me) and a heightened sense of awareness. I am not feeling any light-headedness or insomnia. I have been sleeping and napping as usual. I'm experiencing a pretty suppressed appetite - I am still hungry for 3 sqare meals and enjoying them fully, but my munchies (literal and figurative) have been totally erradicated. I feel quite fine.
To appease concerned folks in my life, I'm continuing to monitor my physical state carefully. I'm paying attention to how I feel during workouts (less fatigue, I'm assuming mostly due to the caffeine) but have found my heart-rate both resting and active to be unchanged and steady. I am going to speak with both my nutritionist and doctor on Monday, who have both been perplexed by my lack of results thus far. Even after reviewing a week long food diary which included times eaten, and a detailed excercise log, my Nutritionist still could not come up with a definite answer as two why I was still gaining weight. My doctor briefly suspected a glycemic disorder, but a blood test showed nothing abnormal.
Justin is convinced my doctor will completely abhor the use of ephedra in any form, but after much research, I have learned that most North American doctors (including those at the Mayo) agree that when taken according to specific guidelines, 97% of consumers studied experienced little to no side-effects, none that were a threat to well-being - and significant weight-loss.
