Had my appointment with Dr. Melchior today.
First exciting news of the day- I've lost one pound since last week (believe me, I can afford to lose a few more than one!) My blood pressure was "normal" which is awesome, Leah's heart rate was good, she's a good-sized baby, and all that good stuff. Also, she's sitting low in my pelvis. The doctor

Basically, my birth plan is just a written letter (made by me!) about what my preferences are for labour & delivery. Things like: I want a natural, drug-free birth vs. I want pain medication (or anything in between- I want the option of pain meds, but I don't want them to offer me any- the idea is that when I truly need/want it- I'll ask THEM for it), I want the baby to room-in with me (as opposed to spending the night in the nursery), I don't want her to be given formula, etc., etc.
Most of these things aren't really a concern in Canada- or at least at the hospital that I plan to deliver in- as they're very pro-breastfeeding and keeping mamas and babies together- but by putting it down in writing (while you're still OKAY and not in loads of pain/in the zone with labour) there's no question about what you want. Of course, I have a disclaimer on mine that if my health or the baby's health is in jeopardy at ANY point, feel free to throw the birth plan out the window and just do whatever it takes to get her here safely... sorta thing. But yeah, I'm just planning for a birth the way that I envision it, more or less.
There's TONS of templates for birth plans online- just google birth plan and you're bound to get something! Have a look at those and see what sorts of things go on there- and then you can decide whether it's something you want to do! =)
(But man, am I EVER prepared for the birth! I'm getting impatient, in fact!)
