I just got a major shock.
Kyle just called me. He heard from Chris (my ex) that our friend Cynthia died about a week ago. She was in Georgia after joining the military and got into a car accident. I just left messages for Fields & Noe to call me asap. I'm feeling kind of numb. Cynthia was one year younger than me, Noe's classmate. She was immature, irresponsible, an avid gamer... we'd all been fed up with her at some point in our lives. She was a mother of two (last I'd heard) and married to her 2nd child's father. I didn't even know she'd joined the military. She disconnected with us about oh, over five years ago. Her first child, Samantha, was a favorite of us all. She & Cynthia lived with Noe for Sammy's first two years. Noe's mom, Noe & myself were more Sammy's parents than Cyn was. We were relieved to hear later on that Cyn's parents had won custody of Sammy. Cyn was a tomboy, a kleptomaniac, and a compulsive liar. I know I'm not painting a pretty picture, I'm being honest. We all wondered how things would go for her... it's sad to think that her life ended maybe just as it was being turned around.
