Цветные фотографии 1890-1900 гг, снятые в Леванте-современных Израиле, Ливане, Египте, Сирии и Палестине.
Фотографии изначально были чёрно-белыми, но потом были раскрашены при восстановлении.
Несмотря на то, что фотографии были сделаны более 100 лет назад, многие здания до сих пор сохранились.
Глядя на эти фотографии, первая мысль, которая приходит в голову, что люди, которые жили в то время на этой территории, НЕ строили ни пирамид, ни прекрасной архитектуры старого Яффо и Иерусалима.
Ощущение недавно разрушенной цивилизации, почти нет деревьев,кругом необжитая, пустынная местность. Обломки оплавленных камней(мрамора или гранита).
Дамасские ворота, снимок сделан в 1900 году, это один из главных входов в город Иерусалим,
сохранились по сей день.
