Day 10 of halfamoon.

Teyla Emmagan led her people, saved her people, save the strange new people, befriended the strange new people, saved them some more, and then helped save an entire galaxy for good measure. Because she could.

This is a mini-tribute to the tiny little "alien" woman who fought the Wraith, and won.

I love the "I can kick you ass" look she's got on her face. :)

She totally was. And for some reason right now I want a fic where someone teaches her about blanket forts. Maybe Lorne.

Actually I want blanket fort fic for every fandom. Lestrade stumbling up to 221b and John fed up with the world and insisting they and Sherlock build one and Mrs Hudson brings them tea. And in a modern AU Merlin's having a crap day and Morgana or Gwen brings brownies and Arthur thinks it's dumb but rolls his eyes and climbs in anyway. And the TARDIS's engine crapped out *again* and there's sparks everywhere and Amy declares the only way to fix things is with a blanket fort and Rory tells the Doctor to humour her OR ELSE (because, seriously, pissed off Amy? Not a good thing). And Ianto's having a minor meltdown and Tosh and Jack build a blanket fort and Myfawny gets jealous and and and.... BLANKET FORTS FOR ALL.

"Teyla Emmagan led her people, saved her people, save the strange new people, befriended the strange new people, saved them some more, and then helped save an entire galaxy for good measure. Because she could."

AND risked that her people would be disappointed in her long before they could understand why she did what she did and stayed with the newcomers. Yes, Teyla is a woman of caliber!

There was so much backstory they could play with for her, wasn't there? I love when that aspect is explored in fic.

I *love* Teyla to death, she's so awesome! Love her poise, and her skills, and her willingness to help, and the fact that she obeyed John without feeling threatened as a leader and warrior, and the fact that she knew when *not* to obey John. And the fact that she was one of the only two people (the other being John) who knew how and could keep Ronon in check.

Her only failure, basically, was Michael - and I bet if she could have handled his case the way she'd have wanted, she'd have gotten him to accept his transformation and he wouldn't have turned against the lot of them.
