Congratulations! You have just added a colorful new phrase to my already extensive vocabulary! "Hooterem sideways with the rough end of a pineapple." Although I'm not precisely sure what this means, I'm completely convinced that I do NOT want it done to me! ;^D (Laughing!)
In the wilds of usenet, there is an oasis of daftness known as uk.rec.sheds. The denizens thereof (of which I was once one) use a strange and impenetrable lingo known as "shedspeak". For reasons which have escaped my rapidly declining brain, "hooter" is used nstead of "bugger" there to a large degree.
The rough end of a pineapple is a phrase I picked up from a former boss of mine. Nice chap, if a bit sweary :)
And you're quite correct, it doesn't sound at all pleasant. Although I daresay, as with many things that don't appeal to me personally, there are those that *would* enjoy it. De gustibus non disputandem est* and all that.
* Loosely translated - "Do not argue upon the windy charabanc"
Changing user interfaces are the bane of my life. I just get things set up the way I like them, and they go and change. Deepest sympathies and if you've any room in the pineapple bed then I'd like to grow a couple of my own to use on offenders.
Thanks. It's the mentality of fiddling with stuff for the sake of it that annoys me so much - especially when, as in this case, they take something that worked perfectly well and make it hugely worse.
I mean, I'm not good with change, I recognise that, but this is like renovating with a flippin' bulldozer. Bah.
I've written to them and commented on their FB page, but i suspect the number of fucks they give is this:- none whatsoever...

I just don't have enough friends in all the wrong places if no one ever thought to introduce me to uk.rec.sheds!
(Hint: People from the Deep South can get really creative when it comes time to insult someone.)
