listened to what people are saying as you walk to class? Or listened to people talking in class? You overhear the strangest things. Here are some of mine.
“We call it ‘noodle’ since we can’t very well call it what it is... No, that’s true. You really can’t name it that early.”
“He dropped out of high school because it was boring."
“I mean, like, Jesus was gay.”
“So everything that happens in Miami stays in Miami… is that what you’re saying?”
“He’s really white and really short.”
"It’s like a hangover but it’s not one. It’s like this buzzing in the back of my head and… oh. Maybe it is a hangover.”
“Did you know once she’s corrected it she expects you to know it the next time?!”
“It’s like offering me pudding, then not giving me pudding. It’s NOT NICE.”
And two student/teacher conversations:
Prof: "Why do airplanes fly?"
Student: "Because we want them to?"
Prof: "How many people can you name in the civil rights movement?"
Student: "MLK... the Black Panthers..."
Prod: That's a group, not a person... looking for people."
Student: "Ok. Mr. Black Panther?"
Sometimes you have to wonder about people...
