Updates and stuff

Okay so lots of stuff.  "Forever" is finished, finally... all 171,369 words of it (plus the smutty Missing Reels.)  Not so many reviews for the final chapter.  Kinda bummed about that, especially considering that it was 6.3K words and I put loads of work into it. *sad*

I have one chapter left on my original fic, and it is in progress.  I'm going to ( Read more... )

Well, congratulations, that sounds excellent for you! We all know you're tops ;)

Can't you just fly? A twelve hour car ride sounds like torture. I'm glad you'll have internet in your room, so you can chill and read/write fic to unscramble your brains.

Lil' sprogs are like dogs, they know you've been gone, but they can't really tell how long.

I could, but then I'd be without a vehicle for 6.5 weeks. Not too bad to drive, actually. I'll have my i-pod loaded up. I get really good fic ideas whilst driving, so I'm hoping it won't slow me down too much on my ficcing. I was hoping to have my original work sent out before I left, but I don't have enough time. Ah well, I'm bringing a printer.

Sounds great! Congratulations! I'm sure Magnus and daddy will have a ball together without mummy around ... boys together and all that. It'll be a bit of an opportunity for some father/son bonding.

It kind of freaks me out to think of 12 hours driving across your country... you could cover virtually the entire length of the UK in that time!

Take care and good luck with the original story too

Well, he is a stay at home dad already so they are pretty bonded, lol!

Funny thing is that it is actually only about a third of the legnth of the country.

Thanks much for the luck.

Congratulations!
I thnk you should have a nickname - Superwoman. With a Hubby, son, and a skyrocketing career in the Airforce, you are still able to crank out 171K fics with the flick of a wrist :) (multiple fics since you were working on Forever while writing your original work).

oh, yes...welcome to the east coast, my side of the country. Just a few hundred miles north is NY. We will be close enough to have coffee LOL!

Heehee Thanks! It feels like "super-tired" most of the time. I'm looking forward to exploring Montgomery; it's a very historic town.

Congrats on all that. Sounds like a cool opportunity. Sorry you have to be away from your family for so long. That really sucks. Can they come visit you? Or you them? Or will you have to stay on base the whole time? Hope you get lots of fic ideas while you're driving. THat sounds very promising. Will this affect where you might be sent to in October(?) at all?

They can come visit, and my hubby might fly out about halfway through, but it is expensive. The reason I wanted my car was so that I wouldn't be stuck on base. And no, it won't have any effect on my upcoming assignment. I would have had to go to the Academy at SOME point, I'm just doing it sooner rather than later. :)

That's good that they can visit. And I suppose you can video chat or something. Still, I'm sorry you have to be away so long. That's a definite plus to driving. I'm debating the same thing for over the summer when I take my yearly trip to Nashville. I'll probably just fly again and borrow/rent a car if I absolutely need one. :-/ I really loathe driving long distances. More power to ya for that. I think sooner rather than later is a good thing. :-) Keep us all posted. *hugs*

Yeah, I've got a webcam on my laptop and hubby has one on the pc. I'm not a giant fan of driving long distances either, but what can ya do? LOL!

ooh, congratulations. This sounds great for you, even if it does mean being away for a while.

Twelve hour drive??? Meep!

Hey, thanks! Google actually says it's a 14 hour drive, but it is all highway and people that have driven it said it was only 12. Not *too* terrible a drive, but that is about the absoloute max I can do in one day.
