Fanfic updates and stuff

Newest chapter of 'Forever' is up! Here for the lazy.  Yay!  I am quite happy with this one.  I should be! Difficult!  I rewrote a large portion of it because the little Hatters and Alices in my head disagreed.  They're happy now.

'We Need a Holiday' is next (sorry evenstar_estel!) after I test.  I'm on a strict no ficcage diet until then.

Soooo.... my test got ( Read more... )

Yay for smuttage! I absolutely need it after today! Here's a little brain massage for you:

He tried to text a reply, but his hands were numb and the phone slipped from his grasp and hit the railing before falling over the edge and down to the fathoms below.

"Shit!" he cursed. There was nothing but black below him. The only thing to do was to keep walking and find the nearest place with a phone. He stuffed his freezing cold hands back into his jacket pockets. Leather was definitely not the optimum for this kind of weather. It was good in a knife fight or an animal attack. He wore it because as far as he knew every moment was potential disaster, every person was a potential adversary. He'd been in this world approximately six years and he still couldn't sluff off his old life. He stomped his feet and walked faster. How fucking long was this goddamn bridge? Ahead of him was nothing but whiteness. The wind had picked up and the snow had started coming down. This reminded him of the time he'd been trapped in Earth's frozen past and almost made into supper for a Yeti. The bridge was slippery, but he didn't dare hold on to the metal rail without gloves, which of course he didn't have with him. He stumbled and slipped more than once. His knee had been giving him trouble for a few years now and he really felt it. The icy wind bit at his face. It almost hurt to breathe. Ahead of him he heard the crunching of feet on the snow. He took his hands out of his pockets and stood his ground.

He relaxed slightly when he discerned that the figure was small. He saw whisps of long blond hair flying around her head. The street lamps above gave just enough light. When she was ten feet away she looked up and his heart stopped. "Abby!" he cried, closing the gap between them "Bloody hell, woman, what on Earth are you doing out in this?!"

She looked up at him and smiled. "Looking for you," she replied. He studied her and frowned. Her hair was shorter than it had been just a few hours earlier. He recognized the leather jacket she was wearing, but he'd never seen her wearing it... except...

His eyes fell on the golden ring that hung from the leather cord around her neck. His Connor wore one just like it. He used to have one himself he'd given it to... "Abby?"

"Hey babe, long time no see."

He felt his stomach drop and felt the bile rising in his throat. This couldn't be. "You... you died."

"Ten years gone now, yes."

"Am I dead? Did something happen to me?"

"No, you're fine, but if you don't get out of the cold soon you might be."

"I don't understand what's happening. Are you an angel? I'm I hallucinating?"

"Maybe somewhere in between. It's good to see you Connor. I like the eye patch." Tentatively he raised his cold hand to touch her face. The moment he did he felt the warmth return to his fingers. He brought his other hand up and cupped her face. He leaned in closer, he couldn't help himself. The first touch of his lips on hers was like coming home. Suddenly it was a decade previous, before the world went to hell and they were still just Connor and Abby, full of hope and idealism, just starting to fall in love. He broke and and sobbed into her mouth. What the hell was happening? He poured ten years of grief in kissing her. He felt pangs of worry for the strange situation he was in, but it was overidden by the soft warmth of Abby's kiss. There were tears falling from his eyes when they parted. She smiled up at him.

Oh, this promises to be awesome! Connor's all hurt and sad and adorable, and he's got his ghost Abby again! Awwww. Yes, that helps. :) Now off for a bit to read another chapter... then take the quiz on my laptop... then read

*pets yer brain* Ew brain goo.

Poor Connor's just shredded in this, but he gets a happy Christmas in the end. :)

*Blinks away tears so as not to look foolish in front of the family*

This is... this is... It's so sad, and warm, and beautiful. I almost can't stand it. He's been through so much and things are all screwed up again. HIS Abby, right there for him to see and touch and kiss...

*flails incoherently and looses the no crying battle*

Oh this looks good. Thanks for telling me this was here. I love it. Poor, poor Eye Patch. :-(

I love it and I can't wait to read this whole story.

*Uses your own icon against you* :-)

THAT icon is a perfect example of a 'woobie'. Heh. I am a complete bastard to poor ol' Eye Patch, but I fix him in the end. Mostly :)

Just wait till you see what she shows him! Eeek!

Sorry it's such a long wait till Christmas.

Mostly!?!?!?! Good God woman! Have you know shame? Between you and Thewritingbug, there's not much of him left.

Oh dear. You know It's a Wonderful Life is my absolute favorite Christmas movie of all time, but at least his angel is not his long lost dead girlfriend. *meep* And oh, eek indeed. The what if's could be quite overwhelming.

It's less of a wait than it is for the show to comeback. At least I'll probably enjoy the first few episodes. After that I suppose all bets are off. *pouts a little more*

It's Christmas, so he's happy in the end and better than when he started.

I'm sure PC and the other Brits will give us a play by play, so we can prepare ourselves mentally. That's what east coasters did for Buffy fans. You can chose to skip an ep if it sounds bad. I did that with Buffy sometimes too. It's a lot less painful when your friends are summarizing for you.

I don't know why I'm suddenly Little Miss Sunshine, lol.

cheerleading. Lots of cheerleading. *sigh* Well Resource Management chapter was mind-numbing. Now for the quiz.

I might just be the surprise cheerleader in all this. Eeep!

Your poor brain. Do you have chocolate and alcohol at your disposal?

It is bad when what you're writing is so angsty it makes you cry as you're writing it?

No.... it means it's brilliant. :) Ah... had sour patch kids. Does that count? Almost made me a hot buttered rum, but I'm already sleepy.

It's a hell of a soul shredding fic for Christmas. Good thing I've got the happy ending figured out.

If sour patch kids are comfort food, then yes. The hot buttered rum sounds ideal, then to bed with you :)

Would expect nothing less. *smirk*

Off to bed is right! Then *sigh* more study. *sobs gently*

Night!

Ok, at least that sounds really good and totally fluffy. I suppose you could never completely fix Eye Patch, could you? He's such a great character. :-)

I have no discipline when it comes to reading spoilers. Hehehehehe. So yeah, I'm sure I'll be reading what ever the post.

lol! Didn't you start most of the angry mumblings earlier?

evenstar_estel November 30 2010, 20:12:27 UTC
It's fluffy in the end, lots of cuddles and lots of love.

By the time Amelia's grown up he's as fixed as he's going to get, and that's pretty good.

I have zero discipline for spoilers either. I am hoping that PC or another Brit does a detailed play by play of the eps, possibly as they air!

Yes, I did start with the angry mumblings, but PC was the one who posted the bad spoilers!

I know right. I was eating all the other ones up until I saw hers, then I started freaking out too. No fun. :-( I'll just have to have faith that Andrew won't let them screw things up permanently.

This is for the blip by Evenstar_estel (can't tell if I'm posting this the right way): Poor shredded Eye Patch! Wow, you really know how to tear things up! I'm all misty myself. Hope you hurry up and fix him.
