I'm so happy to be home. I am ecstatic that the semester is over. I was really really worried about my 2 Econ classes, but I managed to get a B in both of them! That combined with my 2 other A's makes for a good semester overall. Just one more to go...
Last weekend was great in spite of the rain and the cloud from finals. I took my Econ 161 final on Friday afternoon. Then Hilary, Silver, and I got yummy Mexican food and went to see Brokeback Mountain. I was a bit disappointed by the gay cowboy movie, but at least they're trying...
Tania was nice enough to take up shopping at Safeway for party supplies. Then Hil, Silver, Augie, and I went in the spa - that's where I was at midnight when a few kind people called to wish me a happy birthday.
The next morning we went to breakfast at Ann's Kitchen. I spent the day doing some of my Christmas shopping (no other time to do it!) and chillin in general. We girls exchanged Christmas presents before our guests showed up. People came at various times. Lots of Spens residents came over, so it was cool to see them when I wasn't behind the desk asking for their ID cards.
Some people got drunk, some didn't. As usual when I'm hosting the party, I didn't have that much to drink. We did some dancing, talking, blah blah fun stuff. By about 2 a.m. there were only 9 of us left and an impromptu game of catch was started with a foam football. Eventually it turned into boys vs. girls and it only got more and more violent. It ended when I spotted blood on Hilary's hand, around 330 I think.
Sunday morning came and my happy little world was no more...back to the books. I spent the next two days studying for 100B (Macro Economics) and finally took that most-dreaded test on Tuesday. I worked 5-10, then spent the evening with Augie. I had to wake up at 6 a.m. and pack, then left with Hilary at 7. She was scheduled to be on the flight after mine, but mine was fairly empty so we had the pleasure of traveling together! By that point I was so exhausted...I got home and slept for 3 hours.
So that night, Wednesday, I was already busy. I chaperoned a sleepover for my sister and the girls in our Job's Daughters bethel at the lodge here in Ramona. It was more fun than I had thought it would be. I got to make a gingerbread house and we played lots of fun games. My mom left around 10 p.m. and left me and Alyssa (20 years old) in charge of the 10 girls. We finally went to sleep around 2 a.m. and I slept like a baby on that floor until my mom woke me up by taking my picture at 7:30 a.m.
Yesterday was cool. I did some shopping in town with Steven, then the Las Vegal bowl game was on. Ashley came over and watched it with my dad and I. We had chips, salsa, tacos, burritos, and beer. My California Golden Bears beat BYU 35-28 and it was a fabulous evening.
I woke up early today to go to the mall with my dad and Kelly. I finished the last of my shopping and ran some other errands. Unfortunately, it seems that the illness that has plagued my whole family caught up to me too. I think everyone is sick right now - damned finals weakening our immune systems! So I feel pretty crappy and I'm just going to stay home and try to rest and feel better. At least I finally have time to do some pleasure reading and watch some movies. :-)
