Have a meme. About writing, today!
1. What's your favorite pairing to write? Is this the same as your OTP?
Thundercracker/Trailbreaker. It's a pet crack pairing, and I don't care if I'm the only person in the world who ships it. ^.^ But no, it's not the same as my OTP, because I don't have an OTP.
There's a lot of pairings I like, and a lot of these pairings overlap. Off the top of my head: TC/Trailbreaker, TC/Skywarp, Starscream/Skyfire, Starscream/Megatron, Starscream/Dreadmoon, Dreadmoon/Wardword :3 (I don't care if he's an OC that never actually shows up! He's a GARGOYLE DECEPTICON. With a TAIL. There's nothing cooler than that!), Red Alert/Inferno, Red/Inferno/Firestar, Blades/Slingshot, Springer/Hot Rod, Springer/Hot Rod/Arcee, Springer/Arcee, Springer/Prowl, Springer/Roadbuster, Springer/Onslaught (Springer/the entire Marvel Universe...), Onslaught/Megatron, Prowl/Sentinel (Like OMG whoa. If I had to pick only one pairing, that might be it), Fireflight/Sandstorm, Sandstorm/Octane, Blackout/Barricade, Blackout/Megatron, Vortex/Springer, Vortex/Onslaught, Vortex/First Aid, Vortex/anybody at all...
2. Which is the strangest pairing you've written?
Blackout/Glenn. The random pairing generator MADE ME DO IT.
No, seriously. 3. What pairing would you love to write but are afraid to and why?
I'm not really afraid to write any of my favorite pairings. I'm really only afraid to write unfamiliar characters and characters who haven't caught my interest. As for pairings that I'd really like to write but haven't yet, Impactor/Springer tops the list. :3 Possibly some Impactor/Kup or Kup/Springer. (raise your hand if you're disturbed) Just waiting for the right plot bunny to hop by.
4. What's your favorite piece of your own work and why?
Hm, that's hard. I might have a favorite for each genre. :P For silly funtimes,
Thundercracker and the Three Seeklets, which is my very first G1 fanfic and full of silly humor. Hilariously fun to write, and it's made a lot of people laugh, which keeps it being fun for me.
For serious fics,
Stand Together, even if it has a horrid title.
And for dark humor, anything at all with Vortex in it. :3
5. What's your least favorite piece of your own work and why?
Virus. It's just... badly written. With an overdone theme. I still like the idea of a Robosmasher Virus, but I hate that piece. :P
6. Which piece of your writing most expresses what you believe to be your writing style?
... All of it, since I'm writing it? Even if I'm practicing a "new style," it's still going to sound like me.
7. Which piece of your writing do you believe to be most out of character with your writing style?
The older stuff, because I'd like to think my writing has evolved in the last few years. :P
8. Do you prefer to write for yourself or for other people?
Other people, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I write for the same reason I tell jokes, and I don't tell them so I can be the only one laughing. :P I write because other people enjoy what I write. The best compliment I can get on a fic is when someone tells me it brightened their day. The stories I would tell to myself even if I was't writing - my brain doesn't shut off. I'm always daydreaming. Even when I'm focused on something, stories happen in my head. But I write them down to entertain others. I'm not out to become famous or a BNF, which is why I almost never enter contests. When I do, it's because I want the challenge of the prompt, not because I want to win.
9. How do you feel about comments and constructive criticism?
Love! Some days I'd sell my first born child for concrit! (This is easy to say, as I'm asexual and don't want children. XD) Comments let me know that people are, in fact, enjoying the story, and see above about how that is my primary motivation to write. I've also gained enough confidence in my writing as time's gone on to not breakdown when someone says that they suck, (kinda like telling me that my jokes aren't funny. :P) and I've come to value people telling me where I can improve.
10. Do you prefer to write slash/het/both/everything? Is this the same as what you like to read?
I prefer to write gen, m/m slash, and het. Femslash is something I have nothing against, but just doesn't do it for me - with the occasional exception. Between slash and het, I have no preference, except that there's a lack of canon females, and the only two I particularly like are Firestar and Arcee so my fic tends to be m/m.
