thinking seriously about a wet-dry shop vac
Water's coming into our basement; not much, or at least it wasn't when I left. Just a trickle flowing across the basement floor, south to north (our neighbor to the south is at a higher elevation, and he drains onto our south wall).
Wonder what it'll look like when I get home tomorrow afternoon... I'm feeling kind of happy we left the floodplains of Hoboken behind. If all it took was a record-breaking northeaster to get a trickle in the basement, I'm feeling justifed. Today in Hoboken, they're swimming.
Update @ 4:30 pm 4/16: There are only a few minor puddles left in the basement; El said it had been this way since morning. The water had no obvious exit point; it must have receded into cracks sometime after the heavy deluge ended.
