So...it's a first try. I wanted to do one for a while, but my icons always seemed to suck compared to a bunch of other people, and a lot of my icon making comes from tips I pick up from others. But I wanted to do a tut anyway. People can like it or hate it. And it's pretty simple. :)

..Seriously, why'd you ditch j_icons? ;-; Your icons always rock hard. I know that when I make some, I often think about icons you've made and try to take inspiration from that. They're never quite as good, though. ._.

Create another new text layer, "she's got skin like" with two spaces between each word, three between each space.

I deleted the comm cuz I wasn't doing much with it...I went out of the funk where I was making icons religiously, you know?

This is a beautiful tutorial and even though I use PSP7, it's easy enough to translate. Must add to memories. :)

Sorry. You said to make a new "text layer" That bit I didn't get and how to actually get the text onto the icon??

I'm gonna assume that you use PS7...

Just use the text tool, click on the icon somewhere and type out your text...that'll make it into a new layer. :)

Beautiful icon... mine didnt come out as good.. but it gives me a place to work from

Try tinkering with the opacity, sometimes that works, or putting the gradient at a different angle. :)

I think this tut works better on bases that are more yellow, to bring out the pink tint in it. >D
