Discovered a new brew shop today, the Beer Authority. Not only do they have an excellent selection of brews (so many different micros, enough to make any beer geek/snob just drool), they…huh, totally forgot what I was going to say here, was thinking about all the micros in the fridges w/ beer quotes on top of them. Anyway, definitely check this place out if you’re in the Seattle area, and make sure your credit card is paid down, ‘cuz it will be hard to just walk away w/ just one or two selections.

While there today, I picked up the White Ale from Hitachino Nest. They’re the makers of the Japanese Classic Ale. Based on how good the Classic Ale is, I expected a mighty fine first experience w/ a white ale. Yes, I have never before tried a white ale (knowingly) before.

My conclusion is I got a bunk bottle. I am pretty sure White Ales are not this carbonated. There were some off flavors too. However it was still drinkable, and the malt/hops seem to mesh well w/ one another. For now, I’ll be sticking to the Classic Ale, but will give this one another try in a few months.
