F is for Funny

Yesterday morning, whirlygig sent me a link to Austenbook, a retelling of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" in Facebook News Feed style.

By last night, I was combining this new obsession with a current project, creating graphics for an upcoming church outreach event.

The result? Faithbook.

I'm also working on a retelling of Diana Gabaldon's "Outlander" in this fashion, but it's not finished yet, and I doubt it will be funny to anyone who doesn't know the books very well.

I have a fear that this kind of thing might lead to our church looking lame; like when teachers at school used to think they could use whatever the current cool lingo was, the kind of thing that makes you burn with embarrassment for how clueless and uncool they can be. Or again, it might make people laugh. Thoughts?
