i dunno if i want to CELEBRATE the death of jerry falwell, but i am going to to reiterate that i think jerry falwell (publicly) was a very disgraceful person and while i'm not glad that he is dead, i am glad that there is one less enemy to individual freedom in this country.

also, in case the media tries to make this guy out to be some wonderful and great, learned man, lets not forget that he is the guy that founded liberty university, a school which claims to have dinosaur bones that are only a few thousand years old and that there is "mounting evidence" for dinosaurs to have co-existed with man in the garden of eden.

a few other stupid comments by falwell

God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve.
-- Rev Jerry Falwell, blaming civil libertarians, feminists, homosexuals, and abortion rights supporters for the terrorist attacks of Tuesday, September 11, 2001, to which Rev Pat Robertson agreed, quoted from John F Harris, "God Gave US 'What We Deserve,' Falwell Says," The Washington Post (September 14, 2001)

And, I know that I'll hear from them for this. But, throwing God out successfully with the help of the federal court system, throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools. The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way -- all of them who have tried to secularize America -- I point the finger in their face and say, "You helped this happen."

"There will never be world peace until God's house and God's people are given their rightful place of leadership at the top of the world. How can there be peace when drunkards, drug dealers, communists, atheists, New Age worshipers of Satan, secular humanists, oppressive dictators, greedy moneychangers, revolutionary assassins, adulterers, and homosexuals are on top?"
- Pat Robertson, The New World Order, p. 227, Word Publishing, 1991

"There is no separation of church and state. Modern U.S. Supreme Courts have raped the Constitution and raped the Christian faith and raped the churches by misinterpreting what the Founders had in mind in the First Amendment to the Constitution."
- Jerry Falwell

"Labor unions should study and read the Bible instead of asking for more money. When people get right with God, they are better workers."

-Falwell, on worker/labor unions

Jimmy Carter's "message of peace and reconciliation under almost all circumstances is simply incompatible with Christian teachings as I interpret them. This 'turn the other cheek' business is all well and good but it's not what Jesus fought and died for. What we need to do is take the battle to the Muslim heathens and do unto them before they do unto us."
In a radio interview on March 4, 2002, Falwell said of former President Jimmy Carter
