Paris was brilliant, as expected. The weather was good. Reconfirmed how rusty my french is, which is an incredible shame because I can remember when I was reasonably proficient, if only with quite a specialised vocabulary. (Less 'going to the shops' and more 'taking over the world', we got very bored and wrote political manifestos in french at the back in physics class-- sadly I've completely forgotten how to say 'on your knees, puny mortals'). The Louvre was just utterly fantastic, as was the Musee D'Orsay. I have many photos of beautiful art, they will be facebooked later. But some of the highlights were
Chasseriau,
Dore's L'Enigme, all of
Moreau and seeing Bougereau's Birth of Venus in real life. Rather like seeing Sandys' 'Spring' at the Ashmolean. Digital images don't quite do them justice.

I am currently drinking vodka, eating coconut ices and watching Lost Boys on my (enormous!) television. Also have discovered Bioshock, and the second controller for the XBox, therefore I have had zero productivity. Will reply to important emails about The Project tomorrow. I am still looking for website making type people, if you know anyone who is interested.
