For every inspirational quote, there exists a foil to it. Inspirational quotes also tend to oversimplify and overgeneralize. But if they make you feel better, then who really cares if they're true or not, right? Better happy and delusional than miserable and sane....i think.
Epictetus was a pretty wise dude, even though there are a few things he said that i think are bullshit(s?). Some cool epictetus quotes:
If you want to improve, be content to be thought foolish and stupid.
First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do.
You are a little soul carrying around a corpse.
I especially like the last one. We're all zombies. That makes me happy.
