Naked and bed (and a really fucking awesome dinner)
Took my "mom" (she's my mom's best friend and basically a mom to me as well) out todinner with with my real mom and sister for her birthday tonight.
It was a true blast. We went to a local restaurant that either grows all their own ingreeients or sources them locally, and chose to do the 7 course chef's tasting menu.
Omg. it was seriously one of the best meals of my life (although considering the cost, it should have been). each plate was small, but so complex and wonderful and truly delicious. There was something really special knowing that the menu was created just for us and that it wasn't an experience we, or anyone else, could ever duplicate.
(the wine pairings were amazing too, and have led to being more than a little tipsy).
It was so sweet because at the end the chef came out to our table to deliver the final course (a cheese course where he lit a cinnamon stick instead of a candle for the birthday girl) He was soooo adorable and so sweet and you could really tell that he loved what he does and that he was so flattered by all of our praise.
And now? I am going to take all of my clothes off and collapse into my bed with it's nice clean sheets and with no intentions of getting up any earlier than noon tomorrow.
