So, episode sixteen is when they get together? And then we get six episodes of Caskett trying to make it work before episode twenty-three blows everything to pieces? Yeah, I'll take the six episodes of happiness.
Yeah, my money's on the 2-parter being when Beckett blurts out her secret, probably something along the lines of, "Did you tell her 'I love you' too, Castle?"
I've been wondering about that too. My theory is that the cliffhanger will involve a life-in-peril situation, same as the previous two-parters (perhaps involving water, given the report about wetsuits?), but that Beckett's blabbing will be an integral part of that situation.
It's all code in the article. Any article that uses the word "touchstone" indicates a change in the relationship. And, seriously, what's left for Beckett and Castle to do other than give their relationship a shot?
You'd be surprised. I'd love it to happen now, but not too long ago in interviews, AWM's talking about how there's still quite a bit of journey left to go before they get together. I'd actually be quite surprised if it even happens at the end of season 4. I'm guessing season 5 will be the time. But either way, I'd put money on the fact that it won't happen in the two parter, otherwise they'd be hyping it up WAY more, not speaking in code.
Totally. Although I don't think I have a huge amount of patience, because when it comes to dragging out the UST as far as it can possibly go, I'm like, 'been there done that'. And usually they wait so long cos they're afraid of killing the show, that they end up killing the show anyway. Castle is teetering on the edge of waiting too long. They're at a bit of a standstill at the moment.
I understand the fear because it's true that people, on average, do tend to tune out after a couple gets together. The general viewer, online and off, who aren't super into a show, will always talk about how a show is over when a couple gets together. But I mean, like you say, there are so many factors to that: Audience not caring because it's gone too long, bad writing to compensate for holding out too long, bad writing in GENERAL because writers think we want to see the characters sappy and gross and out of character etc
( ... )
See, I think this is the perfect time. Because Marlowe has a way out of the relationship (the murderboard that Castle's hiding from Beckett). So the viewer gets to see a glimpse of what it would be like if Castle and Beckett were a couple, and then Marlowe gets to "reset" the relationship with Beckett not trusting Castle and breaking up with him. Cue season five with the theme being "Trust" with Castle once more trying to prove to Beckett that she can trust him and Marlowe dragging out the relationship for another two or so seasons until he's ready to pull the trigger again.
I wouldn't like that much at all. For a start, I'm really hoping Beckett won't push Castle very far away when she finds out his secret. She's been as untrustworthy with lying to Castle, in my opinion. I hope this isn't another case of Castle being a doormat and Beckett getting mad. Because they're both to blame.
Also I'm pretty sure AWM won't get them together and then break them up.

But then again I would be surprised if they get together in the two-parter.

Which sucks because I think it's time for progression.
I have a huge amount of patience and even I'm getting tired of the tiny/not-at-all steps forward.
