We managed to find a house today! It is a bit far from the center of London, about a 40 minute tube ride from our College center, but it is really nice. Or it will be. They have to do some work on it, finish cleaning it and re-tileing the floors and moving all the furniture in, but they garuntee that it will be livable by Saturday, which is when we need to move out of our hotel. I know that sounds a bit sketchy, but after meeting the landlord and seeing the place, I feel confident enough in its suitability. Additionally, it was the only place that we all liked. All utilities are included, it has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchen (Sharona and the boys will get the single rooms, and I'll share the large room with Jen), and it is in a good neighborhood that feels safe and is close to all the necessary shops and food places. It was £500 a week, which means that I'll be paying approximately $800 a month, and after searching around London for three days, such is a good deal for the quality we are obtaining. Tomorrow we will begin shopping for the things that we need to add to our house, such as blankets and pillows. I'm feeling a lot more relaxed and calm now that we actually have a place to move into, eventually. Tonight we are having an orientation meeting, after which hopfully my new housemates and I will go out and check out some of the nightlife around the College (which is in Kinsington). Whohoo! Possibly getting tipsy in celbration of successful flat hunting! On another note, apparetnly KFC is really popular over here. Seriously. I've seen, like, maybe seven total since we've been here for three days. They might even outnumber the McDonalds...
