We're at Canada House in London right now, which is essentially the embassy, but they can't call it that because we're part of the commonwealth. A crazy Douglas Copeland exhibit (with KD and Windsor Salt and Sherriff Pie Filling and Magic Powder and I'm crazy with hunger right now-- almost supper time-- Pizza Hut?) Everyone tells me that McD's is sketchy.
I decided that there would be plenty of time for crazy historical stuff later (the galleries will still be here later in the semester!) so Morgan and I just wandered around downtown London/Westminster for the afternoon, going into bookshops Charing Cross Rd, through China Town and Leister Square, and back down to Trafalgar to meet Cyndy and the other gals before the Katies had to meet the bus going back. We have the play tonight so we get a few extra hours here in London to wander around and see the sights. We really technically SAW everything on a bus tour when we first arrived in the city and now it's a matter of hoofing it. I bought a pretty new scarf because it's colder than I expected and a cheap but so so awesome Pulp Fiction looks-like-a-stencil tshirt. It would be cheap in Canadian cash too, so no worries mum. :) I bought a few of my books for Children's Lit 2nd hand, but it's shockingly hard to find the most common of Children's Books here in London.
OH-- and I found Reeses at a convenience store. They were weirdly pricey (I imagine they're a "fancy import", you see) so I only bought one package. At least I know that it IS possible (however challenging) to get my sweet sweet peanut butter cups over here.
Don't let that stop any of you from sending me some, though. ;) For my birthday, maybe?
Cyndy and Morgan are waiting. So is pizza. And the Theatrrreee.
Pictures later when I get back to Herstmonceux! <3
