A frog jumps in
The sound of water.
This is a Japanese Haiku, welcoming the Spring, with the melting of a pond and emergence of life. I love the way such short poems can create such beautiful imagery! I am sitting in my apartment, with the balcony door open, watching the ducks playing on the pond and the sunlight shining through trees in bloom, all to the music of the birds. I love Spring! Here is a try at a Haiku, though in English, not Japanese, so I hope it sounds ok. I'm not especially good at poetry...
The blooming trees sway
To the music of the birds
Welcoming the Spring.
