Okay well first off, I'm a total sucker for Sarah/Charley. Come to think of it, I'm a sucker for Sarah/Derek and Sarah/Kyle too. LOL. But they're all very different :P
Anyway, I loved this. I had a hard time imagining Sarah drinking brandy, but being a little drunk was definitely a good way to get her to open up a little. And I really like how you explained why Charley had never asked about those scars. That's something I've often wondered - what did she tell him? You worked that out nicely in a way I would've never thought of.
Charley took her nearest hand all in a rush, and ran the tip of her finger over a ridge just behind his left ear. “I fell off the swing set in elementary school.”
I like the way you've got Charley sort of coaxing her by sharing his own scars. That was nicer than just having him convince her through conversation.
When he saw her squint from not being able to see anything, Charley grasped her hand once again and ran it around the edge of the very old scrape. It really couldn’t be seen, but one could still feel the slightly tougher skin.
Awesome. Such a great contrast of these Charley scars to the shit Sarah's got :D
“Touching,” she said with a smirk. “But considering it means ‘little sister,’ that would make an awful lot between us very wrong.”
LOL. That was very funny.
It took a minute for her to reply as she waited on the last drop to fall, not being one to leave a job unfinished. “Which one?” There was a sardonic edge to it.
I loved that "which one". Sarah's got some serious battle wounds. The other thing I liked about this is how you got some humor in here. Sarah definitely had a bit of a smart-ass edge to her in season 1 that kind of got lost in season 2 and I missed it. Nice to see you giving her some of that, even if the alcohol helped ;)
“Pugsley gave me that,” she murmured.
Yay! Pugsley! I used to have a pet iguana. :)
Sarah went almost completely slack and he settled her till her head came to rest in his lap. “Shouldn’t have over slept… wouldn’t have gotten nicked… just fed him…”
I thought you did a nice job of having the alcohol making her gradually get cozier and more sluggish and this was a great moment to fade her off into sleep.
He reached under the bed and pulled out his new rifle. He’d lied earlier; he did still have one thing left he could give.
I had a hard time imagining Sarah drinking brandy...
*snickers* Sorry, I was rifling through the liquor cabinet for that one. I saw Charley shove the six pack in the fridge in the ep, decided that would NOT be enough to get them trashed, and just went looking for booze that I thought Charley might have on hand either for cooking or drinking and landed in the cabinet downstairs. Honey wine? No. Raspberry liquor? Like hell. Brandy? That sounds reasonable. And it felt like less of a cop out then whiskey... cause everyone always says whiskey. XD

Awww, thank you! I'd been thinking long and hard on that cause the bunnies are chewing up the cuffs of my pants about how on earth these two would co-exist for 6 months. Glad much you liked. ^_~
That was nicer than just having him convince her through conversation.
COULD Sarah be convinced through conversation? Even tipsy? I wouldn't even know where to begin if I had to crack that nut just verbally, if 'yah know what I mean. Rofl

TOTALLY! I absolutely LOVED the hints of dark sarcastic humor in the series cause that's totally my taste. Always a joy to sneak some in. XD

ZOMG Pugsley love! Behind the scenes... the story about the jumping off the sill after a peach was actually something that happened to my mother when she was young with her pet iguana minus the nick. He didn't actually bite her at all, just the fruit.
Mmmmm... Charley love. And Sarah deserves a little cozy time... before I put her through hell in another fic. XD
Thanks much for taking the time to comment Roxy. Very much appreciated. :D
