The impending sporadicity of Clyde
Just a heads up. I likely won't be in touch online as often as I'd like for a stretch here. I've been bitching about computer issues to some of you for awhile now, and they've been getting progressively worse. My laptop finally slowed itself to such a crawl that I couldn't even get Firefox to load my email cause it was timing out.
I've saved all my documents, pictures, video, etc (and yes, the fic of doom for you handful of expectant people you), so nothing should be lost. I'll just likely be sharing a PC for a bit. Dad is gonna try wiping the motherfucker entirely, installing a newer operating system, and sticking all our stuff on from backup. As much as I hope that'll work, I'm pessimistic since the thing is approximately 5 years old and may just be flipping me off on it's way out the door. On the bright side, I have a job and have been researching getting my own (this old one is technically my father's, but I sorta requisitioned it). I'll have to stalk the Apple stores to see when their back to school lure the students in shenanigans come up. It would take a while to pay off, and I wouldn't be able to put aside as much of my paychecks for tuition as I'd like, but it'd be useful for classes too as well as for feeding all my online addictions. And Apple has better customer service. I've put my head through a wall a few times in the past over this Dell. *glares over shoulder at it where it sits silently* I suppose it could have been a worse 5 years though. It could have been a Gateway.
