Some of you already know that tomorrow I make my departure for the great north (or whatever catch phrase Canada has). What some of you might not know is that I am taking my clients with me. Now, now, no need to adjust your monitor or rub your eyes... you read right: I am going to Niagara Falls with my beloved crazies (for those of you concerned for my safety, I am going with another co-worker).
My Super-Supervisor "organized" this trip to Canada... not thinking anything through (i.e. she has booked us in a hotel in NY... so every day I need to take them all through customs... whatever!). Also, I didn't get my directions until 4:00 this afternoon. As of last week, Super-Supervisor didn't check to see if they needed their birth certificates AND state ID... so I made that call (did you know that you can call border patrol??)
Because of that big mistake overlook, last week the other caseworker and I were running around trying to figure out how to get birth certificates for those who did not have one.
Then Super-Supervisor has the balls to say that she is good with planning trips!??! Yesterday I called her and asked her when do I get the money to take on the trip, where is my TripTix from AAA, and where my itinerary is. One would think that these key elements would already be in my possession more that 48 hours before departure... but they weren't. Whatever!
So tomorrow morning think of me in a big blue van driving my clients to Niagara Falls... and remember, if you hear anything about a group killing that happens up there... don't look at me... I'll be on my way to Sweden ;o)
Oh, and there is a very good chance that I will update this journal upon arrival to my home land! *sings America the Beautiful*
