Acen 2008
After going to Acen with loneliestnumber and greyaugust this year, I think I'll start recording some moments. It was a pretty fun trip and I enjoy vacations and vacation journals. I think I will buy an actual mini travel journal for future cons and other weekend trips we make, but for now, a little in LJ.
Things I have learned:
-The Detriot airport is quite long. (2 layovers) I like to think my legs are getting strong from this trip.
-My hair repels gel. Also wig caps and wigs.
-All wigs are not created equal. Quality counts! This one was much better!
-My hair feels like a dogs coat of fur. People like to rub it. >__>
-Group cosplay is both fun and educational.
-I can be mistaken for someone's boyfriend. o__O;;;
-Pack light next time.
-It never hurts to throw food in your carry-on.
-Deep dish is even better cold. :O
-Mitsuwa is about $30 away from the Hyatt.
-voice posts can be amusing when they involve multiple people.
Funny things that happened...
My wig kept trying to leave.
That loud yaoi doujinshi vendor solicited loneliestnumber and me while in PW cosplay. Now, if greyaugust had been with us, that would have been even better!
When we first arrived on Thursday, the cafe cashier thought I was paying for loneliestnumber's food... apparently I look guyish? Or we look related? o___o;
As we were getting off the plane on our return trip, the stewardess apparently thought we looked like sisters. :V
I chased greyaugust around the lobby and didn't lose my shoe! (Yay!)
The painting in our room called "The House of Cards" was a bit scary. I looked at it every time we entered the room since it was facing us. And then we told ghost stories and discussed things that creep us out and all of us had to evacuate the room for a while. XD;;;
Other things I just feel like mentioning:
The creepy hallway is still creepy and I think it makes a fun story.
We found no Neuros for loneliestnumber's Yako cosplay. :c But we did see big yoshis (green, black, and white), Akabane and Kazuki from GetBackers, some nice Ouran cosplayers, and other amusing/fun people.
The elevators and the registration process were hectic as usual. I wrote my own name on my badge with a sharpie when the printer broke. XD They borrowed the sharpie from the crowd, too.
Once again I forgot to order Chinese/ sushi/ Thai before the delivery time ended.
milk tea is awesome, but makes my extraction area hurt.
The trip was pretty smooth after we got there. :)
I bought more monokuro boo plushies! Next time I think I'll buy a different san-x plush.
I had a wisdom tooth extracted the day before we flew out so that was a bit sketchy. But overall, good times. :) And many pain relievers. XD
I had a lot of fun and generally think that this trip went the best so far. So next time I hope we do even better!
