Naomi, I've heard really mixed things about woofing. One thing that is really weird is that you have to pay to become a member and often times while volunteering on the farm you also have to pay a housing fee. I've known kids who have just traveled around and found farms to volunteer on without the woofing guide. Also it might be more fun to do this in central or south america--you should think about that.
Yea it seems somewhat rediculous to me to pay for a list of contact information... there's one listed in bloomington, do you know anything about it? It would be great fun to do such thing in SA.
