Hana Kimi 2011 & Zenkai Girl
okay so the original Japanese Hanazakari no Kimitachi e JDrama is one of my all time favs, and it totally made me raise my eyebrows when I heard they were remaking it.
nevertheless, I watched a couple of episodes with an open mind hoping to be proven wrong. I sadly wasn't. i dunno, I just don't feel the same warmth that I felt with the original cast lol.
to be fair, Maeda Atsuko isn't that bad as Ashiya. and I like Nakamura Aoi usually. but idk, I'm just not feeling him in that role? it's difficult not to watch without comparing it with the old cast.
Ive seen people say Tennouji is too old, lmao. honestly I thought Ishigaki Yuma was too old too, but at least he was likeable. I just find this new guy a bit strange. lol. the actor who plays Oscar doesn't make me laugh like Kyo Nobuo did. and the new Nanba Minami, uh, why do I get this feeling that he's trying to channel Mizushima Hiro? :S
I'm sure they are perfectly good actors otherwise, and maybe it's just me, but I'm definitely not feeling the remake! I probably won't be watching anymore eps.
Zenkai Girl on the other hand, is great. hahaha. I'm a Ryo fangirl but I think this is the hottest he's ever looked :P ive not seen Aragaki Yui in any drama before but i think she's doing fine here. they make a cute pair. but really, the true stars of the show are the kids! Pitaro is SO damn cute i wanna squeeze him lol and Hinata is such a little grown up! adorable!
and of course, having a Kanjani8 song as the ending theme just makes it even better :D
