AI-Con related post
I know I still owe my blog a wedding post but AI-Con was this weekend and I have a few small photos to share. Overall the weekend went better than expected and I was commissioned for quite a few small Con sketches. The weather was dreadful though and makes me love mid-year Cons even better since bot days were sweltering. The trader's hall is in a hall with a big side-wall of windows which let in the afternoon sun and I don't think that there were any air conditioners turned on.
A lot of these photos were taken on a slight angle to avoid casting shadows on the art so forgive them looking a little wonky.
My first Con sketch on Saturday was a pic of Daria and Trent. I couldn't help but draw them as shoujo-esque as possible.
Power Girl! It's a fast sketch but I'd like to spend some time re-working this pic.
Inuyasha! I have always loved him and his little floofy ears and cute fangs.
I spent so long on this pic, probably too long but I was having so much fun with it that I couldn't resist. A wonderful Emma Frost cosplayer asked me to draw Wonder Woman (evidently this is a groovy costume that was adopted during a 2002 Justice League comic) and Batman looking a little romance-y.
My last sketch of the weekend, Erika wanted me to draw herself putting cat ears on Tom. This was the madness that ensued. (My most favourite drawing from the weekend.)
Rowan has his cute, think-y face on! As usual he was a great help this weekend, keeping me sane with tea, chocolate and hugs.

All in all a nice little Con, it's weird going back after a couple of years away from it after I last after my year as head Convenor but I enjoyed being a trader. As always being a trader is quite a different experience than being a general attendee or committee member running things, I feel I get to meet and talk to a lot of people that I might not otherwise get to and I'm certainly not as stressed.
Tomorrow I'm meeting Anna and Erika for brunch and then Richard, Chibi, Dave and Mark are coming over for a LAN. 8D
