SF Citadel presents: Untying Gender- a peer facilitated workshop about gender

Oct 19, 2009 22:51

Tuesday October 27, 8-10pm (Doors open 7:30pm)

Price: $20

For many people, a trip to the local dungeon isn't just about going for a play date, or checking out hot scenes. Many people see their neighborhood playspace as a break from their confining daily lives, and somewhere that allows them to to be exactly who they are with people who appreciate them that way. However, sometimes people whose gender identity or presentation doesn't conform to social norms can have trouble feeling at ease in these spaces.

Through the sharing of commonly used gender-related vocabulary, personal stories, and helpful resources, we hope to begin the process of making the public dungeon a place where everyone feels welcome.

Participants currently include Mo (morgasm), Asher (Gastapo), and Clint (defiler).

A portion of the event's proceeds will benefit DJ Mystic-Moods to assist him in his ongoing recovery from a motorcycle accident.
