Fucking corporate workplace.
I know, this is the reality of the bullshit climate that is corporate America.
I know, companies have to think of the bottom line.
I know, the rich fucks at the top who spend half the year on vaction always need to get just a little bit richer.
So, on Friday at work... my department was essentially informed that we are being outsourced. To India. A good deal of the work we do is intricate and essential to keeping things running smoothly. Do the decision-makers give a shit? Of course not. By the end of June, we have to have reduced our full-time staff by four people. After that, the prognosis is grim. The reality is.. all of our work will most likely be outsourced eventually. We are cordially invited to begin applying for jobs in other departments. We'll have a job there if we want one.. no worries there. But the reality is.. the jobs we have available to us to apply for are nowhere near the caliber of the jobs we have been working.
I am NOT returning to a life of taking 100+ phone calls every day.
